History of Chicago
The history of Chicago dates back to the early French discoverers of the area in the 17th entury. Before that, the settlers were local Indian tribes. With the colonization of the English during the 18th century, Chicago became a trading center and started prospering. Then in 1871, the entire city was ruined with a huge fire that destroyed thousands of structures and hundreds of lives. After that, the city rose again and in a short time became a modern city.
