Getting around Honolulu would be easier if you just rent a car. Car rentals in Honolulu are affordable and are scattered all over the island so you won’t have a hard time finding one. A rented car is also one of the best ways to see the entire island as well as to get to nearby places such as Oahu which is a little more than an hour’s drive from the island of Honolulu.
However, one should note that the legal driving age in this island is 18 although many car rentals in Honolulu tend to raise it to 25. Also, gas is much more expensive, about 25% more, than on the US mainland. Driving is on the right so if you’re used to driving from the left, it might take a while before you get used to it. |
