Travel Guide of Atlanta
Before you make your trip, you may want to know some inside info on the city, coming from citizens themselves. If you like touring the city, try to stay away from some of the rough places such as Vine City and the Pittsburgh community especially after dark since it may not be a very safe place for tourists. According to locals, the north-south lines of the Marta (city railway) are safe, but be extra careful when going towards the east-west lines. If you want to go out on a night, go midtown or to Buckhead, but not downtown. Don't worry about running out of places to go because you won't, Atlanta still has lots to offer and interesting places to see even in a smaller area. On a lighter note, you can take a cab in and around Midtown and Buckhead, it will only cost you a flat rate of $6, no matter how heavy traffic is.
