History of Los Angeles

History of Los Angeles
The History of Los Angeles explains its multicultural diversity today. During the 18th century, the Spanish discovered the area and brought Mexican families to settle in the area. They named the area El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reyna de los Angeles del Rio Porcincula. Over the years, it came to be called Pueblo de los Angeles or City of the Angels. Spain turned it over to Mexico and in 19th century, the US gained control of Los Angeles.
