History of Mexico City

The history of Mexico City has been a common class discussion in World History. It was noted that Tenochtitlan was the former name of Mexico City that became the center of trade and political activities of the Indians, who were the early inhabitants of the place. The city has been under Spanish rule thereafter, when the language and culture was adapted. It also fell in the hands of both American and French rule, and most of the time became a center of battle. The city became independent from foreign rule after the Mexican Revolution, and has exercise autonomy thereafter.
