Shopping in Barcelona
Duty-free shops are open from 6 or 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. Tax-free shopping refunds can be processed up to 10 PM only. Otherwise, you can just send it via mail. Many places, markets, businesses are closed on Sundays but there are street vendors and less crowd outside.
El Portal de l’Agel is a large pedestrian walkway that features a lot of new and stylish shops. There are a lot of souvenir shops with interesting items from books to music, games, fashion accessories, and artwork.
Be careful with tourist traps in Barri Gotic (The Old City) and the La Rambla district. There are hardly any authentic Catalan or Spanish products there but only Chinese general items. Avoid the mass-market brands at the Maremagnum.
