Restaurants in Rome
You are surely going to enjoy pasta, pizza, and gelato in most of the fine dining spots – from expensive to affordable home style southern Italian cooking. Aside from the traditional Italian cuisine, there are a lot of other interesting ethnic options for the more adventurous eater.
For quick bites, you can go to the bars. Rome’s bars are like the cafes in the United States. They serve alcoholic beverage but they also have sandwiches and snacks. You can go to a pizza e taglio or pizza rustica if you want to eat pizza by the slice.
Trattoria, ristorante, or osteria are the terms used for sit-down eateries. There are affordable set meals you can order with or without wine. A standard-priced meal would cost about 30 euros per person with wine excluded. Lunch in the city is usually around 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon. Dinner is around 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Most restaurants will be closed after these hours.
