History of Rome
Legend has it that the twins Romulus and Remus founded the city on April 21, 753 BC but this is still a subject for debate by many archaeologists. Since the day it was founded, the city stood out and became mostly victorious in war.
Rome expanded to most of Europe and the Mediterranean and for a thousand years or so. Rome was the most important icon in politics. It grew to be the richest and largest city in the Western world and remained to be one until its decline when the Empire split.
